We believe everyone deserves to be seen and supported.
Helping School Communities Thrive
The High 5 Movement is a Tier 1 positivity portal that can be easily integrated into your school day. Developed by a seasoned classroom teacher, our portal is both affordable and efficient, requiring minimal staff training, and as little as a minute of class time to gather valuable school-wide data.
We support learners to build resilience, manage stress and anxiety, and develop positive relationships with peers and teachers.
-
Enhanced Emotional Well-being
Awareness of students' moods allows educators to provide appropriate support and create a positive and nurturing environment that promotes emotional well-being. Students who feel understood and supported are more likely to engage in learning, build positive relationships, and develop a sense of belonging in the classroom.
-
Improved Student Engagement
When teachers understand students' moods, they can tailor their instruction and activities to match their emotional state. For example, if a student is feeling low or disinterested, the teacher can introduce interactive or hands-on activities to re-engage them. This personalized approach helps maintain student interest, promotes active participation, and fosters a love for learning.
-
Effective Differentiation
Students' moods can affect their cognitive abilities and readiness to learn. Teachers can adapt their teaching strategies to accommodate different student needs. For instance, if a student is feeling overwhelmed or stressed, the teacher can provide additional guidance, simplify complex concepts, or offer extra support. By catering to individual moods, teachers can facilitate effective differentiation, ensuring that students receive instruction at a level that suits their emotional state.
-
Improved Classroom Management
By recognizing signs of frustration, boredom, or restlessness, educators can intervene early, redirect student focus, or offer alternative activities. This proactive approach to classroom management helps maintain a positive learning environment and minimizes conflicts, fostering a more productive and harmonious atmosphere for everyone.
-
Stronger Teacher-Student Relationships
When teachers demonstrate empathy and respond appropriately to students' emotional states, it creates a sense of connection and understanding. Students feel more comfortable approaching their teachers when they have concerns, leading to better communication, support, and collaboration. Strong relationships foster a sense of community in the classroom and promote overall student well-being.
-
Targeted Interventions and Support
If a student consistently displays signs of anxiety, the teacher can collaborate with the appropriate school resources, such as counselors or support staff, to address the underlying issues. By addressing emotional needs, teachers can help students overcome obstacles to learning and provide the necessary support to thrive academically and emotionally.
What Does the Data Show?
The High 5 Movement positivity portal includes multiple powerful and easy ways for staff to monitor students’ social emotional well being and for students and staff to give and receive positive feedback.

Thoughtful Seating Charts
Multiple seating configurations show students’ self-reported moods. With the IEP, 504, and language learners indicators, teachers can customize seating charts to create the best learning environment for each student. Staff can also access a student’s trusted adults on campus.
Mood Meter
Daily mood check-ins allow teachers to instantly see who needs more support or who might be in crisis. Students report a higher awareness of their own social emotional well being.
High 5s and Positive Vibes
Students and staff may give positive feedback to one another from a list of options and written feedback (students cannot make written feedback to other students). “Brain imaging has indicated that positive emotions are vital to effective learning; instructional styles that support positive emotions have been correlated with more effective cognitive processing.” (National Institutes of Health)
Gratitude Journal
Consciously thinking about things and people for which we are grateful is closely related to increased achievement, higher learning outcomes, and success.
